(Retired Soldiers Club Book 5)
Michael Brugman is on his way to London when he receives the news that his friend, Sir Walter Laurie’s offices have been hit by a sidewalk bomb. Brugman and his friends join Laurie in the search for the guilty parties. With the help of Almie Rabie, they determine that the men who had planted the bomb were part of a larger group and start working on a motive for the attack. It is clear to Laurie that someone betrayed him, and that he needs to take the investigation off-grid if he is to have any chance of success. The investigation takes the team from London to Blackpool and for Laurie and Stephens back into history. Back to a time, Laurie is desperate to forget. To a confrontation with a man he had believed dead for twenty five years. A man who wants Laurie dead, at any cost.
